MSBD is an investor in and part owner of the AmericaFree.TV (www.americafree.tv) streaming movie and IPTV network. The AFTV site has over 2000 hours of unlicensed or public domain movies and independent films spread over 20 channels.
Funding
MSBD secured over $2 million in funding for AFTV through the ad agency Crispin, Porter + Bogusky (CP+B) to offer creative guidance, new programming, a new site architecture, and conversion from Quiktime to Flash movie files. MSBD worked directly with agency owners Chuck Porter and Alex Bogusky who were interested in making a play for new media distribution networks.
Public Relations
MSBD working with CP+B's public relations staff held a press conference at the "Future of Television" media seminar in Los Angeles at the historic Roosevelt Hotel. Here, AFTV announced its collaboration with CP+B, and with three indy movie producers in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Articles (see our media page) included stories in the New York Times, SHOOT magazine, Adweek and other top trade journals such as Streaming Media.
Advertising
MSBD has secured national advertising partnerships with an ad net called "SpotXchange". Advertising from Google Adsense is also prominently displayed. New video pre-roll ads will be up this fall for the new TV season. Content deals also underway with the Boulder Film Fest and the Adventure.org film festival. Dominos Pizza, a deal negotiated with CP+B help, is a major sponsor of the children's cartoon, adventure and old western movie fare.
